Poetry with Morel, Poetry for Children, Poetry for Women Empowerment

To create is a wonderful activity, you might be making pottery, designing clothes, doing photography, creating with words. My name is Morel Benard and I am a creative being, I like to write using rhythm and rhyme, poetry is what I like to write. I would like to encourage others to engage with creativity, and if you like poetry then do join me. Taking part in creative pursuits doesn’t mean that you are one dimensional; scientists, mathematicians are creative beings. A spark of creativity can help to solve scientific problems, help to solve legal problems, so once again I would like to encourage people to awaken their creativity.

Poetry with Morel:

Students studying GCSE Poetry will have a definition of poetry or several definitions, and students will have to become knowledgeable about various styles of poetry. I’m not sure that my poetic style will fit easily into working definitions. I simply write to give a perspective about social issues, to help adults reflect and to understand issues and I write to teach and to entertain young people.

Rhymes: Poetry for Children

I could say that it is purely by accident that I began writing poetry for kids, but there is a theory that nothing is an accident, somewhere in my sub-conscious or unconscious mind, I must have been working on the idea of writing for young people. When writing for kids, I like to help to raise a smile, depending on the subject matter. I have many books to write for young people and I look forward to the process. Here is a little verse about the sun and rain:

It’s pouring down, pelting down

Where is the sun today

It’s hiding behind the clouds

The sun doesn’t want to play

It’s crashing down upon the house

Running down the window pane

Oh Mr Rain please go away

And send Mr Sun out so we can play

Women Empowerment Poetry

The song says that it is a ‘man’s world, but it wouldn’t be nothing without a woman or a girl’. Yes, it is a man’s world, and generally speaking women are still fighting for empowerment. In some parts of the world rights are still not being given and in other parts of the world where rights were once given they are being taken away. I guess more power to the man, world domination by man, women will have to continue fighting (I will need to continue raising my voice). By the way Morel Benard (me) I am a woman (in case you were wondering).  Here is a little verse written for women:

Business Woman

Play by the rules and they’ll treat you right

Don’t try to compete or you’ll be ostracised

Remember passive aggressive is not a nice trait

But don’t be a Doris the doormat for heaven’s sake

That’s what mama told me when I were a child

And I’ve tried to comply, honestly I have tried

But times have changed and I need to learn to fight

Can’t sit back, hang back and wait to be treated right

Need to explode the roar that I’m suppressing inside

Time to be a business woman and improve my life

Unleash my passion, compete, mama please don’t cry

Poetry UK:

Poetry is alive and well in the UK, cities across the UK including London frequently offer events around poetry. I am based in the UK but have yet to grace the poetry stage in London and other cities. I am however very happy to present my poetry through other channels, in particular social media.

Poetry Ideas:

How do I get inspiration for poetry ideas? Well, the answer is blowing in the wind, and I mean that literally. I like to take walks and usually when I go for a long walk, somewhere on route or when returning from the walk I get an idea for a poem. I scribble the idea and then later develop the idea into a piece of poetry. Sometimes, the initial idea is set aside because a new idea gets born. I love the process, sometimes I get a spark for a poetry idea when trying to sleep, this usually result in going to bed late, but it is all good. I can then sleep soundly knowing that I have the basis of a poem.

Writers work in all different ways, if you are a budding poet you will find your own process to generate poetry ideas.

Poetry Power and Conflict:

There are so many topics to write about, choose topics that you feel passionate about, don’t just write funny poems because others are doing so and you have identified a trend, stay true to self. I mentioned earlier that mathematics can be creative, if you like maths you could create poems on the academic subject. If you have an interest in power and conflict then write poetry books about poetry power and conflict, there is so much to write about, you are spoilt for choice.

Poetry Online:

You will find my poetry online on various social media platforms. I’m often asked if others won’t steal my work. I’m not perturbed since the poems are published on numerous platforms, any thief will have to compete with other thieves also claiming my work. I don’t lose any sleep over plagiarism. I do also have a Morel Benard Google my Business page for my poetry and other pieces of writings. I do need to post more regularly on my Morel Benard Google my Business page, in order to raise awareness of my poetry.

Study Coach Poetry Website:

I am an educator and my Study Coach website provides a platform to publish poetry. On Study Coach website you will find a landing page for Writing Poetry, you will find short pieces of work on the page.  When my poetry books are due to be published I will give updates via the Writing Poetry page. The first books to be published will be Poetry for Children/Kids. Please find a link below for the Writing Poetry page.

Words cannot explain how much I have enjoyed being taught by you! I wish that everyone could inspire the way you do. If this was so, learning for me would be easy. Thank you very much.
