Race to be Prime Minister
Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, John Major and Margaret Thatcher too
They’ve all been Prime Minister and had a chance to rule
Please Miss what do I need to do, I wanna lead Britannia
I wanna chance to rule, but my Daddy say it’s impossible
He says I need to face some truths
My Daddy keep saying that I need to recognise my roots
I recognise my roots, I’m a Lambeth boy and I’m hungry to rule
Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, John Major and Margaret Thatcher too
They’re here in the history books and some had London roots
Please Miss, teach us about politics and what to do
I wanna have the best chance to make my dreams come true
I know my Dad is skeptical
History has left him bruised, maybe that’s why he talks about roots
He was born and raised in Lambeth, but he won’t say that’s true
I love to read our history, though some of it is real cruel
I want to make my mark, be Prime Minister, that’s what I’m driven to do
I’m history in the making this is my purpose in life
My mission is to lead, though Daddy say I’ll be wasting my time
He says never in his lifetime and neither in mine
Will a boy like me be Britain’s Prime Minister
He says I’m deluded, but I’m still going to try
My Daddy is real skeptical and teacher, you feel I’m deluded too
Sometimes I see it in your eyes, you don’t say it only because it’s against school rules
I know I’m going to be Prime Minister and no, not just an MP
I’m going to be Prime Minister, look I’m drafting my manifesto, drafting my rules
I have a clear vision, that’s me and my Ministers at 10 Downing Street
The Lambeth boy is suited and booted and wearing his dreadlocks showing his roots
I’m the Right Honourable Delroy, Prime Minister with mixed roots.
