Poetic

I met an ape

As kind as can be

I met a snake

A kind lion too

And then I met a man

Showed him kindness 

But he was unkind to me 

Story Book – Ape, Snake, Lion

“A very long time ago in a village called Peewee, there was a woman whose husband Joebo died, leaving her with a little baby boy. The dear woman worked hard all day to get food for herself and child, but unfortunately they lived very poorly, most of the time they were half-starved.             

The little boy whose name was also Joebo, was a loving and helpful child and when he began to get big, he said to his mother, one day: “Mother, we are always hungry. What work did my father do to provide for us?”               

His mother replied: “Your father was a hunter. He set traps, and we ate what he caught in them.”

“Oho!” said ’Joebo; “that’s not work; that’s fun. I’m going to learn to set traps, and see if we can’t get enough to eat, so we won’t starve anymore.”
