Study Coach UK is here to educate and to entertain. Education is not limited to concepts and sociological/philosophical ideas. Drama, music, dance, creative writing, film making, fine art and many other subjects are all part of education. Here at Study Coach we also encourage students to take a creative approach to their academic work, being creative can help students to think outside of the box and help to raise discursive arguments.
Morel Benard
Morel Benard at Study Coach is a qualified academic tutor and she has an interest in creative arts. Morel takes pleasure expressing her opinions in a poetic form. Readers might agree to categorise the writings as poems or choose to use a different label, no offence will be taken. Morel has self-published two books, both are available at Amazon (Pirate City and How to Stop a Workplace Bully). The next publication will be a book of poems and hopefully many other books of poems will follow.
Writing GoodNight Poems
Night time is an interesting time, it usually offers silence and is a great time to write or to reflect and contemplate on life. You will find below some short poems on the theme of GoodNight, a number of these poems will be developed further and presented at a later date. There is an added poem on party politics at the end, this issue was recently in the news.

Spoken Words & Education
Spoken words are one of the most powerful tools we have for transmitting and receiving information, whether we are simply having an informal chat with a friend, delivering an educational presentation or explaining our work experience to an interviewer or as a means to express a poem. Spoken words are therefore useful to the poet, so he/she can personally present their own work. If we lack confidence as a speaker, we might however prefer to leave the reading to our readers. Morel has presented some poems in video format and will present more in the future.

Be thankful for shelter
A comfortable place
Somewhere to call home
To lay your head
Be thankful for company
Kind words expressed
From that special friend
Who knows you best
Be thankful for the other
Who shares your bed
But if you really don’t like them
Please don’t shut up
Please don’t put up
Push them out of the bed

2. TRUTH – GoodNight Poem
The time is ours
To make amends
We’ll close our books
Turn off the lights
And let darkness descend
You’ll speak your truth
And I’ll speak mine
It’ll be a meeting of minds
We’ll make our peace
Kiss and have some playtime

3. BULLY – GoodNight Poem
Oh! I remember you well
How could I forget your face
You’re the man, the bullying man
Now riddled with old age
You made my young life a living hell
So please don’t try to pretend
That you and I were once friends
Old man, time have brought change
Amnesia has taken hold of you brain
Quit, while I’m being kind, goodnight
Go and reflect on you bullying ways

Its a frightening tale but true
Many tonight have no room
No place to call their own
No certainty of where they’ll go
Some will find a corridor or two
Others will keep on the move
So as we snuggle down to sleep
Give a thought, a little thought
To those who sleep upon the streets

Lay down you troubles
Try to put them to sleep
Don’t suppress or repress them
But give you mind some peace
May the dark of the night
Silence the noise
And help heavy minds
To find some peace

Thinking of you
The wonders of you
But you don’t have a clue
What thoughts I hold of you
If you only knew
The thoughts in my mind
Would you rebuff me
Or allow me to stay tonight

PARTY POLITICS & LOCKDOWN
Now, I’m a party man through and through
So when I got the invite how could I refuse
They said there would be plenty of samosas
chicken tikka, tandoori and prawn biryani too
All I had to do was to wear my Mayoral suit
I did ask about Lockdown but they said no worries
You’re the Mayor no one can tell you what to do
You know I love my biryani, love my party food
Couldn’t let it go to waste, but never imagined
Never thought it would get me in the news
Now all is let loose, some say I’ve been a fool
I know there is no excuse for what I did
I should know better, but I do like party food
There were 2000 signatures demanding I resign
Each signature brought a tear to my eye
I deeply regret my actions, for breaking the rules
But I want to know what about the other two
They liked the cooking too, biryani and vindaloo
Don’t see much criticism about them in the news
The two Councillors were also enjoying the food
Breaking Coronavirus Lockdown rules
Now I hear the people are chanting:
Three Councillors must go
they broke the Covid rules
no excuse for what they did
breaking pandemic rules
